This week our brothers and sisters of Beechgrove Station 56 were alerted to an alarm at the #SafeHavenBabyBoxes on the station at 1202 Albany st. Beechgrove EMS District Medic 56 and Indianapolis Fire Department District Engine 46 were Dispatched to the alarm. The crews opened the baby box and found a healthy child. The #SafeHavenBabyBoxes system worked perfectly. Our Sisters and Brothers evaluated and cared for the little one, following the Safe Haven guidelines, made all notifications and placed the child into the care of the proper protective providers. Great work by all of our crews working together to take care of our tiniest citizens, with great love and compassion! Today we were able to celebrate at a press conference with the founder of the program. This box has been in service for three months.
