LAST ASSIGNMENT: William W. Mann was appointed to the Indianapolis Fire Department on 11/19/1979. He first served in the United States Marine Corps, then graduated from Ball State University, before becoming a firefighter. Bill took his first regular assignment on Engine 10 C shift on 06/01/1986, before moving to Engine 23 C shift several weeks later on 06/19/1986. On 12/19/1988, he made his last transfer to Engine 31 B shift, before retiring on 09/12/1989. Bill was a lifetime member of The Marion County Fish and Game Association, treasured bird hunting with his Brittany bird dogs, and also enjoyed shooting sporting clays.
