LAST ASSIGNMENT: Battalion Chief Greg Thompson ended his 41 plus year Career as The Shift Commander of B Shift. Chief Thompson began his career in July of 1969. He made his way around the city as a new firefighter for 10 years, honing his skills. He made Lieutenant in 1979, Captain in 1982 and was promoted to Battalion Chief in 1986, which means he was a Chief longer than some of us stay on the job. Chief Thompson thoroughly enjoyed golfing in his free time.
