LAST ASSIGNMENT: Charles Cox was appointed to the Indianapolis Fire Department on 10/26/1964. He graduated from Scecina Memorial High School in 1958. His first regular assignment was on Engine 02 in August 1966. He transferred to Ladder 07 on August 21, 1970. But moved over to Engine 07 in February 1971. 6 years later, Charles was promoted to Lieutenant and assigned to Engine 13 C shift. He moved around from Engine 01 C shift, Truck 31 C shift, and taking Engine 01 C shift as his last assigned apparatus in September 1984. On his off days from the fire station, he worked for L.S. Ayres for over 20 years. He also enjoyed bowling and poker. His last occupations involved delivering library books and transporting individuals through Senior Services of Hancock County.
