LAST ASSIGNMENT: Antonio “Tony” Rosa was appointed to the Indianapolis Fire Department on 01/16/1974. He first competed as a wrestler at Southport High School where he even went to the state finals. He also served in the Indiana National Guard before becoming a firefighter. His first day in the companies was on Engine 22 B shift and went regular on Truck 18 B shift on 07/07/1978. Few months later, he switched over to Truck 07 B shift on 12/09/1978, before moving to Engine 01 B shift on 11/01/1979. He stayed there for several years, until taking Engine 12 B shift on 03/18/1983. On 09/22/1986, Tony transferred to Snorkel 13 which eventually became Truck 13 B shift. This was his final assignment in the suppression division. He became the lead Hazardous Materials Educator from 07/29/1991 through his retirement on 03/13/2004. Tony had resided in Bowling Green, Kentucky for the last 8 years.
