Daniel L. Thompson, 67, of Fort Myers, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016. He was born September 8, 1948 in Indianapolis, IN and moved to Fort Myers in 1998. He retired from the Indianapolis Fire Department in 1993 following 26 years of service. He proudly served the United States in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion Post 274 of Fort Myers Beach.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife of 33 years, Marilyn S. Thompson; his children: Daniel Lee Thompson (Amy) of Youngsville, NC, Edward W. Thompson of Indianapolis, IN and Vicky L. Beam (Christopher) of Tampa; his siblings: Connie Griffin (Errol) and Cathy Jo Thompson, both of Indianapolis; his grandchildren: Jaelyn, Morgan, Travis and Amanda; great grandchildren: Aden and Lola and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Harold R. and Dora Belle (nee, Rhinehart) Thompson; his son, Dennis D. Pruitt in 2012 and his twin brother, Michael A. Thompson in 2016.
