LAST ASSIGNMENT: Kenneth Armstrong was appointed to the Indianapolis Fire Department on 01/01/1949. He first served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II, before becoming a firefighter. Kenneth was first promoted to Junior Mechanic on 01/01/1950 at the IFD Repair Shops. He then was promoted on 10/22/1953 to Senior Mechanic. Over 10 years later, he achieved the rank of Assistant Master Mechanic on 06/03/1964, before obtaining his final promotion of Master Mechanic on 02/14/1968. Kenneth retired from the Indianapolis Fire Department on 04/24/1970. He then continued to work for more than 20 years for Memory Gardens Management.
