January 29, 2016 Union Update

Below are some updates from the past couple weeks.

  • HSA Deductions:I have heard there were several members who have still had issue with their HSA deductions. Those effected should have received an email from Lisa Lasek. If you believe you still have an issue with your deductions and did not receive an email, you need to notify Lisa Lasek.
  • PEHP Deposits:Our $250 plus any vacation days you elected to be put into your PEHP account will be deposited on Friday 2/5/16.
  • Recruit Class:The next recruit class is scheduled to begin February 8, 2016. There are 40 recruits with an anticipated graduation date of July 28, 2016
  • Committees:At the last General Meeting there was a chance to sign up for several committees. If you are interested in joining one of the following committees you can send me an email with your name and what committee you would like to be on and I will forward your name to the committee chair.
    • Committees: Building, Museum, Human Relations, Health and Safety, Constitution and ByLaws, Athletic, Family Events, Elections, FDIC, PAC
  • Contract Survey:We have received roughly 400 surveys and 100 comments at this time. The survey will be available until Friday February 19, 2016 at the following link: http://bit.ly/2016-ifd-contract-survey. This can be filled out on any computer, phone or tablet. This is also completely confidential; the only thing we will receive is the answers. At the conclusion we will have the results on the Website  www.L416.com.
  • Construction Update:There were some foundation issues discovered after removing the east brick wall. Those have been dealt with and they are moving forward with the shoring of the current building in preparation for the basement. We should also start to see some of the vertical steel going up in the next couple weeks.
  • Suggestions:I would still like to know if the membership has any suggestions/ideas as to what you would like to see in the coming year. Obviously we have contract negotiations and the construction going on at the hall, but is there anything you would like to see from me? I have some plans of my own but want to get your input so I can begin to plan this upcoming busy year.
  • Good and Welfare:If anyone has anyone or family we need to keep in our thoughts and prayers (and the family doesn’t mind) let me know. Please keep the following people and family in your thoughts and prayers:  Don Harper, Mike Brown, Herman Brown, Stuart Wright, Jerry Whitaker, Brad Peglo (Mother), Scott Isaacs (Mother)
